Windows Live Messenger updated

Windows Live Messenger has been updated to build 14.0.8064.206. Unfortunately, that's all the details we have at the moment. The messenger team has made no mention of any changes in this build, up from the previous 8050.1202.

We can tell you however, that none of the evident bugs appear to have been fixed. Windows 7 users will still find that pointless extra tile in their taskbar (excuse us, this one is technically a "feature"), and changing status via the jumplist still doesn't properly update the selected status. Tired of not having display pictures stay in their small format? Too bad, display pictures still don't save the selected size. You will also still get that odd flashing of display picture borders in all of your conversation windows whenever any contact starts listening to a different song or when you change your own status.

So besides a new build number, we really can't spot the differences.

All users running WLM 8.1 or 8.5 should expect to receive an optional notice to upgrade to WLM 2009 over the next month.
