Days ago, when the IE 8 RTM was announced, someone asked why there were XP version,Vista version and Server version, but there's no version for Windows 7.Now i think Dean Hachamovitch, IE general manager can tell the reason.
“Anyone running Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server can get 32- and 64-bit versions now. Windows 7 users will receive an updated IE8 as part of the next Windows 7 milestone,”
“Our next steps start with listening. We’re going to listen for customer and security issues and respond appropriately. We’re going to engage with web sites and developers on compatibility. We’re going to finish Windows 7"
That's to say,in order to make it tailored to Windows 7 and it's new features,IE 8 RTM for WIndows 7 is still under development and may be it will come with the Windows 7 RC.Let's wait and see.
